Case Study
Installing a Cost Effective

Situation:
A small architecture firm located in Farmington, CT, faced a big dilemma. How do you install an effective computer back-up system at a reasonable cost? The small company was aware that installing a back-up solution was important. It was also aware that these systems often come with to a hefty price tag and require time-consuming support.
Response:
In this case, IT Direct’s goal was to find the most cost-effective back-up solution. First, IT Direct contacted its wide range of vendors. It was able to procure a pre-owned tape drive with a warranty at a fraction of the market price. Then, IT Direct installed the tape drive, keeping billable hours well within the client’s budgetary constraints.
Only one month after IT Direct installed the tape drive, the company experienced complete hard drive failure. IT Direct immediately brought over a new hard drive and quickly installed it, salvaging three and a half years of data in only a matter of hours. The company only lost one hour of their workday and the new system was up and running by the time the employees got to work the next morning.
